EMERALD

PIZZO MARCIO, VAL VIGEZZO, NOVARA, ITALY - Most of the collectors think that Colombia is the only place mere emerald can be found. It is not really so ! Also Italy has an area where emerald can be found ! It is not an occurrence so frequent but well formed green beryls var emeralds show up in Val Vigezzo, close to Novara, in Piemonte region, Italy. This specimen hosts 2 terminated large emeralds on white matrix. The crystals are 1x0.5 and 1x1x0.6 cm ! really nice and uncommon from Italy ! overall size is 7x6x7 cm.

PIZZO MARCIO, VAL VIGEZZO, NOVARA, ITALY - Though small, this is an outstanding complete emerald from Italy ! Beryls var emeralds are quite uncomon in Italy, only close to the Alps mountains there are some occuurences. This specimen is from the best locality for emralds in Italy. This crystal has the classic hexagonal habit and a bright green color. The size is 0.5x0.5 cm and shows up nicely on the matrix of this rock ! overall size is 2x1.5x2.5 cm.

PIZZO MARCIO, VAL VIGEZZO, NOVARA, ITALY - An other interesting and well terminated beryl var emerald from Val Vigezzo, Italy. This crystal is perfectly terminated and shows a nice green color. The size is 0.8x0.7 cm and stands great on the white matrix ! overall size is 2x2.5x1.3 cm.
