ONORATOITE
LE CETINE MINE, SIENA, ITALY -

A very rare mineral. Discovered in this only location (approved by IMA in 1968) all over the world, nowadays can be displayed in a collection only if a limited number of collectors find it in a specific part of this mine. I personally collect this during the early spring of this year. A real rarity and scientifically interesting. The onoratoite shows up as nice white acicular crystals of 1-2 mm, grouped to form clusters. The mineral is an oxide oantimonium (Sb8O11Cl2). Overall size of this specimen is 5.5X2.5X3 cm.
