Jonesite crystals
Benitoite Gem Mine, San Benito County, California, USA
Together with Benitoite,
Neptunite and Joaquinite, Jonesite represent the rarest mineral of this area.
The crystals are really tiny, microscopic glassy blades, always grouped to form
clusters, usually 0.5-0.75 mm. Jonesite pops up after cleaning the rocks were
benitoite or neptunite are hidden by the crossite ... you have to screen the
surfaces with great attention and if you are lucky ... here there is
JONESITE ! this page proposes the only 6 specimens
I have of this hyper rare mineral. JONESITE is not as esthetic as benitoite can
be but is a real rare and unique mineral. You can get more infos about Jonesite
