Facciatoia, San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - An old specimen from the historical quarry of Facciatoia, now defunct. There is a 0.4 cm terminated pink/red elbaite inside a cavity of the pegmatite vein. Lot of quartz crystals all around and a grey orthoclase. The grey color is a classic for Facciatoia. Gorgolinato, Sant Ilario, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - An old classic. Gorgolinato is an old area that produced a number of fine schorl and beryl crystals. This specimen hosts several bright terminated schorls up to 0.5 cm all around various quartz and feldspars. Nice rock of 3.5x3x2 cm

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - Pegmatite minerals are sometimes nicely coupled. In fact it is not so rare to find that schorl, beryl and/or cassiterite crystals are variously combined in the same cavity or nearby. This is the case. This rock has half a dozen of terminated schorl crystals up to 0.4 cm. Some of the schorls have a white albite coating as a cap. On one side there is a terminated beryl of 0.45 cm. Overall size is 5.5x5x3.5 cm

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - On a nice grouping of feldspar crystals there are some bright orange spessartine crystals. Spessartine is a rare occurrence on the pegmatite of Elba. The feldspars are up to 1.5-2 cm in size and the spessartine are 0.2-0.3 cm show up on the feldspars. Overall size is 7x4.5x4 cm
