San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A classic specimen from the pegmatite areas of San Piero.This specimen has an open cavity with a some large orthoclase crystals up to almopst 3 cm on the edge. All around there are quartz crystals and a number of terminated schorl crystals to the size of 0.5 cm. The specimen is very representative of the pockets that can be found in the pegmatites areas of San Piero ! overall size is 13x9.5x5.5 cm.

San Silvestro dike, San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - San Silvestro has been one of the oldest pegmatite vein worked at the San Piero area, aftwer the Speranza quarry. Now it is exausted and almost no traces are left of its location. This specimen is from my personal collection. There are 3 perfectly terminated elbaites ! the main crystals are 0.5 cm in size and show a deep brown/green color while the top is light green. The smallest elbaite is located just below the other 2 crystals, with the same aspect. Very nice thumbnail. Great esthetics ! overall size is 2.2x2.2x1.8 cm.

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Greatly terminated elbaite crystal nicely located on orthoclase small piece of matrix. The crystal shows greatly with nice change of color close to the top where it is with a light violet. The crystal is 1.7 cm in size !

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A classic combination specimen from the pegmatite areas of Isola Elba, Italy. This rock host several terminated schorl crystals up to 0.5-0.6 cm nicely located on cluster of quartz crystals. On the top of the cavity there is a beryl with a light blue color nicely located under the orthoclase ! nice specimen. Overall size is  7x6x3 cm.
