HIMALAYA MINE, SAN DIEGO CO., CA, USA - Great elbaite crystal of 2.6 cm in size, terminated. The color is a pastel red. The crystal has some white lepidolite on the back. Great specimen of 2.7x2x1.7 cm.

ELBAITE and LEPIDOLITE

Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande Dist., San Diego County, California, USA - This specimen is a fully terminated crystal of elbaite with two smaller lepidolite crystals attached. The crystal is very gemmy and color zoned though the colors are dull reflective of pockets found in the later years of the mine's operation. Overall size of this gemmy crystal is 2.5 x 1.8x 1.3 cm.
