San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A classic specimen from the pegmatite areas of San Piero.This specimen has an open cavity with a some large orthoclase crystals up to almopst 3 cm on the edge. All around there are quartz crystals and a number of terminated schorl crystals to the size of 0.5 cm. The specimen is very representative of the pockets that can be found in the pegmatites areas of San Piero ! overall size is 13x9.5x5.5 cm.

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Typical exmple of the structure of a crystallized vein inside the pockets of the pegmatite areas of Isola Elba. There is a 3 cm schorlite vein that shows various crystals throughout the specimen, nicely located close to quartz and feldspar crystals. The schorlite are up to 0.5 cm and some are biterminated. The feldspars are up to 2 cm on the edge ! overall size is 8x7.5x7 cm

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A classic combination specimen from the pegmatite areas of Isola Elba, Italy. This rock host several terminated schorl crystals up to 0.5-0.6 cm nicely located on cluster of quartz crystals. On the top of the cavity there is a beryl with a light blue color nicely located under the orthoclase ! nice specimen. Overall size is  7x6x3 cm.

The schorl are half a dozen, terminated and are up to 0.5 cm in size. There is also a beryl var. goshenite on the back of the specimen. Classically, there are several orthoclases, bright white and on one of them there is a 0.9 cm beryl, terminated and waterclear. Beryls are usually coupled with schorl at Isola Elba. The orthoclases are 1 cm on the edge. Overall size is 8.5x7x5 cm.

Gorgolinato, Sant Ilario, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - An old classic. Gorgolinato is an old area that produced a number of fine schorl and beryl crystals. This specimen hosts several bright terminated schorls up to 0.5 cm all around various quartz and feldspars. Nice rock of 3.5x3x2 cm

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - Pegmatite minerals are sometimes nicely coupled. In fact it is not so rare to find that schorl, beryl and/or cassiterite crystals are variously combined in the same cavity or nearby. This is the case. This rock has half a dozen of terminated schorl crystals up to 0.4 cm. Some of the schorls have a white albite coating as a cap. On one side there is a terminated beryl of 0.45 cm. Overall size is 5.5x5x3.5 cm
