PITIGLIANO QUARRY, GROSSETO, ITALY - Nice and rare since this quarry is no longer existing ! A quite rich specimen of 5x4x4,5 cm with nicely terminated vesuvianites up to 1-1.2 cm with several grossularia crystals up to 2 mm.

BELLECOMBE, CHATILLON, VAL D'AOSTA, ITALY - Very nice specimen with hundreds of terminated vesuvianites ! The color is bright brown and the crystals are up to 0.3-0.4 cm. Very nice under magnification ! Overall size is 4x2.5x1 cm.

Dosso degli Areti, Lago d'Iseo, Bergamo, Italy - A nice and large crystalline matrix rich in vesuvianite crystals. There a re a lot of crystals well shaped and visible up to 1.7 cm in size. A classic from the Alpine areas of Italy. Overall size is 9x6.5x3 cm.

Pitigliano quarry, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy - An old specimen probably from late 80ies when the quarry was still operating. The rock is entirely composed by a grossular rich matrix that hosts a large vesuvianite crystal. The vesuvianite is 1x0.5x1 cm in size and stands on the edge of a cavity filled by 1-2 mm grossular crystals. Overall size is 6.5c5.5x4 cm.
