GROTTA D'OGGI, SAN PIERO ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - The combination of black quartz and beryl is typical at Grotta d'Oggi quarry. This specimen hosts a nicely terminated waterclear beryl of 0.6 cm in size and some 2-4 mm black quartzes, nested in an open cavity. Nice rock of 3.5x3x2 cm

Grotta d'Oggi, San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - An old specimen from a german collection. The rock hosts a terminated goshenite beryl 1 cm in size which is nicely nested close to a feldspar. A classic from the old locality of grotta d'Oggi ! overall size is 6x4.5x3.5 cm. Old label also from Krantz collection.

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - An old specimen, collected at the beginning of 1900, probably from Grotta d'Oggi area. It hosts a couple of perfectly terminated light blue beryls , growing as parallel twins, one is 1.5 and the other 0.6 cm in size. No damage. There are several orthoclases and quartz crystals all around. Very nice display of this old specimen of 6x5.5x3.5 cm. It comes with the old label.

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Interesting combination specimen. There is a terminated beryl of 0.9x0.8 cm in size nicely located on a feldspar crystal. Close to them there are some bright orange spessartine crystals. The specimen hosts also various albite crystals, some incomplete elbaite crystals and other feldspars up to 2.5 cm on the edge ! in a cavity there is a well defined cluster of green millimetric zircon crystals. Very peculiar rock of 9.5x6.5x4 cm

This specimen hosts some millimetric orange brookite crystals up to 3 mm and several 0.5-1  mm in site anatase, red in color and nicely terminated ! a classic from this locality. This specimen is composed by a cluster of lenticolar calcite crystals to 2.4 cm in size, partly covered by limonite ! There are a lot of crystals ! On the top there is a bright partly gemmy calcite of 1.4 cm wide ! nice specimen of 8.5 × 6.2 × 3 cm. Weight is 200 gr.
