Colonnata quarry, Apuane Alps, Carrara, Italy - A bright yellow sulfur crystal of 1x1 cm in size shows on the top of this marble specimen ! A very nice crystal, terminated. Rare to find such kind of crystals. Overall size is 7x4.5x3.5 cm.

Case Collina quarry, Pitigliano, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy - An old timer since this quarry was closed more than 20 years ago. The specimen hosts a number of large and well exposed brown vesuvianite crystals up to the size of 1 cm ! The vesuvianites have also some tiny grossular crystals all around. The whole rock is a pyroclastic stone. Overall size is 8.7x5x5 cm. Weight is 245 gr.

GIUMENTARO MINE, ENNA, SICILY, Italy - A classic from Sicily sulfur mines. Giumentro was one of the most prolific for sulfura and for celestine crystals. This specimen hosts large celestine crystals up to 3 cm. The whole specimen is a cluster of crystals. Overall size is 8x5x4.5 cm.

Siele Mine, Piancastagnaio, Siena Province, Tuscany, Italy - Top fine classic sample with red"strawberry" of cinnabar up to 17 mm diameter on sandstone matrix. Not easy to find ! Overall size is 9 × 5.5 × 2 cm. Weight is 125 gr.

Rogerley mine, Frosterley, Durham Co., England - Very nice and esthetic fluorite specimen ! The rock hosts a number of cubic fluorites showing the classic green color under artificial light that becomes blue under the sunlight ! The fluorite crystals  are up to 1.5 cm on the edge and most of them are 1 cm on the edge ! I count close to more to 2 dozen crystals ! Among them there is a dark black galena crystals 1 cm in size ! An old timer since this specimen has been aquired in the 2000 ! it comes with the orihinal label from the mine. Overall size is 5.5x5.5x4.5 cm

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - In this open cavity there are half a dozen elbaite crystals, all terminated ! The crystals are nested among quartz and feldspar crystals. Their size is up to 0.8 cm. Nice rock of 8x4.5x4 cm

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - Cassiterite crystals are typical on pegmatite rocks and Isola Elba pegmatites obey to this rule though the crystals here are usually of millimetric size. This time we have a large cassiterite, up to 0.4 cm ! Great metallic luster and well exposed on the matrix. A must for the Elba pegmatite collectors ! Nice orthocalses and quartzes around. San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Typical exmple of the structure of a crystallized vein inside the pockets of the pegmatite areas of Isola Elba. There is a 3 cm schorlite vein that shows various crystals throughout the specimen, nicely located close to quartz and feldspar crystals. The schorlite are up to 0.5 cm and some are biterminated. The feldspars are up to 2 cm on the edge ! overall size is 8x7.5x7 cm
