San Silvestro dike, San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - San Silvestro has been one of the oldest pegmatite vein worked at the San Piero area, aftwer the Speranza quarry. Now it is exausted and almost no traces are left of its location. This specimen is from my personal collection. There are 3 perfectly terminated elbaites ! the main crystals are 0.5 cm in size and show a deep brown/green color while the top is light green. The smallest elbaite is located just below the other 2 crystals, with the same aspect. Very nice thumbnail. Great esthetics ! overall size is 2.2x2.2x1.8 cm.

FLORISTELLA MINE, ENNA, SICILY, ITALY - A great old timer ! This specimen hosts a great abundance of celestine crystals grouped in clusters showing complex terminations ! I count one hundred crystakls or so ! The crystals are up to 2-2.7 cm in size ! The matrix shows wel evident traces of sulfur. An interesting specimen from a mine no more producing specimens. In fact this one is from an old collection recently aquired. Overall size is 11x11x6 cm. Weight is 1.6 kg

Bacino mine, Rio Marina, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Very nice classic hematite crystals on hematite matrix. The hematite crystals ar up to 2 cm in size ! Classic metalli luster. There are almost 2 dozen crystals here ! Overall size is 5x4x4 cm. Weight is 160 gr.

Grotta d'Oggi, San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - An old specimen from a german collection. This specimen is characterized by a biterminated quartz crystal of 2 cm in length with a lot of albite cluster all around it and among them there are a couple of perfectly terminated multicolor elbaites up to 0.6 cm in size. There are also some brown millimetric microlites, beryls dispersed among the albites and the books of cleavelandite. Very nice old timer of 5x4x2.5 cm.

Monteponi mine, Carbonia-Iglesias Province, sardegna, Italy - An incredible amount of sparkling grey anglesite crystals, terminated, nicely stand on a galena matrix. This is an old specimen from a dispersed collection of the late 60ies. The anglesite are dozens and up to 1-1.2 cm in size. Overall size is 5.5x4x3.5 cm. Shipping is $25

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A classic specimen from the pegmatite areas of San Piero.This specimen has an open cavity with a some large orthoclase crystals up to almopst 3 cm on the edge. All around there are quartz crystals and a number of terminated schorl crystals to the size of 0.5 cm. The specimen is very representative of the pockets that can be found in the pegmatites areas of San Piero ! overall size is 13x9.5x5.5 cm.

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - It happens to find nice elbaites hidden inside some cavities. This is one ! There are 5 multicolor elbaites all together in this cavity. The most evident is the one grown on a quartz crystal ! This elbaite is 0.5 cm in size and has close to it an other that is 0.8 cm ! some light pink feldspar complete the picture of the cavity. Nice specimen of 6.5x6x3.8 cm
