FLORISTELLA MINE, ENNA, SICILY, ITALY - A great old timer ! This specimen hosts a great abundance of celestine crystals grouped in clusters showing complex terminations ! I count one hundred crystakls or so ! The crystals are up to 2-2.7 cm in size ! The matrix shows wel evident traces of sulfur. An interesting specimen from a mine no more producing specimens. Baia Sprie Mine, Baia Sprie, Romania - A sulphide covered matrix with abundant chalcopyrite sphalerite and galena has a pair of black wolframite crystals on top, with two generations of calcite covering. The main crystal is 1.2 cm in size. Woframite was found along with scheelite in the late 1990s - this is quite typical of the habit. The crystals are not that well terminated. Overall size is 5.5x3x2 cm.

ZOGNO MINE, VAL BREMBANA, BERGAMO, ITALY - This mine is very famous for the well shaped violet fluorite cubes that produced in the past. Now the mine is closed. This specimen is from an old collection. The specimen hosts violet fluorite cube of fluorite of 1 cm on the edge and has etching on one corner on the back. The fluorite sits on a carpet of tint waterclear quartz crystals. Overall size is 9x5.5x3.5 cm. Weight is 200 gr.

POLLONE MINE, LUCCA, ITALY - A classic from this famous Italian mine. The specimen is composed by crystalline quartx matrix with a well exposed terminated lightly smoky quartz crystal up to 2.7 cm in size. There are some other smaller quartzes with some sulfides coating on some faces. There is also a well defined and terminated white baryte crystal of 1.5 cm in size. Overall size is 6.5x5x4 cm. Weight is 95 gr.

Case Collina quarry, Pitigliano, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy - An old timer since this quarry was closed more than 20 years ago. The specimen hosts a number of large and well exposed brown vesuvianite crystals up to the size of 1 cm ! The vesuvianites have also some tiny grossular crystals all around. The whole rock is a pyroclastic stone. Overall size is 8.7x5x5 cm. Weight is 245 gr.
