Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Quebec, Canada - "Cinnamon" Grossulars from Jeffrey are known for their unique orange color, gemminess, top luster and superb "textbook" form. Here we have a nice specimen from this hisoric mine featuring good quality, sharp, lustrous, orange color, gemmy, dodecahedral crystals of Grossular which measure up to 6 mm on blue Chalcedony (according to the label) on matrix. This material is no longer being found as the Jeffrey Quarry is completely defunct and will not produce these specimens again. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5647). Overall size is 4x4x2 cm

One cleaved crystal termination at the extreme far right edge of the matrix, this away from the piece, as seen. The prominent crystal is in excellent condition. Measures 9.0 x 5.0 x 3.0 cm.
