FLUORITE

Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan, China - A wafer thin matrix of tan siderite with some pyrite and gilbertite is host to an array of transparent blue green fluorite cubes with violet zones and spotting. Secondary siderite populates some of the fluorite faces. Aesthetic specimen, a few nicks the matrix edge, very nice. Overall size is 5.1x4.7x1.7 cm.

Frohnau, Annaberg, Saxony, Germany - Nice example of dark grape purple fluorite with a silky lustre. Although dark, black looking the colour is only at the surface of otherwise gemmy amber crystals. The fluorites are up to 0.9-1 cm on the edge. Overall size is 3.2x2.8x1.3 cm.
