GOLDEN BARITE

Montemesu, Villamassargia, Cagliari, ITALY - Large barite specimen from one of the most prolific areas of Italy. This specimen has hundreds of crystals of brown/yellowish barite up to the size of 3x3 cm ! It shows nicely since light damages only on the crystals of the back of the specimen where the rock had contacts. Overall size is 13x7x6 cm. Ex G. Spiga collection. Heavy rock.

SULFUR on ARAGONITE

Cozzodisi mine, Agrigento, Sicily, Italy - From the land of sulfur, this specimen shows nicely with a very well shaped undamaged sulfur crystal of 1.5x1.7 cm. The crystals has a great color and sits on a small aragonite matrix with some other partial sulfur crystals. There is natural bitumen on the matrix, as typical of the specimens from this mine. Great rock of 3.5x3.5x3.5 cm in size.

CELESTINE and SULFUR

Floristella mine, Enna, Sicily, Italy - This mine has been operated for various centuries up to the middle of 1900 when it was closed. It produced the most beautiful celestine specimens ! This is a very nice small combination specimen: celestine and sulfur. The celestines are up to 3 cm in size and some of the crystals are biterminated ! overall size is 3.3x3x2.5 cm.

FLUORITE

Is Murvonis mine, Cagliari, Sardegna, Italy - On a matrix of fluorite there are some violet cubes of fluorite up to 1.5 cm on the edge. The color is nice and most of the cubes have nice waterclear hemimorphite crystals grouped in cluster up to 2-3 mm in size. Nice rock of 7x5x4 cm.
