San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A super combination specimen ! This specimen hosts 3 well shaped terminated elbaites with a nice yellow color at the base. Their size is up to 1 cm. One of them has the top termination partly joint with a small light pink beryl var morganite, around 0.4 cm in size, biterminated. Not so common to find ! overall size is 7x6.5x4 cm

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A very rich specimen ! The whole surface of the specimen is entirely covered by hundreds of elbaite crystals ! The color is light brown/amber. Lot of clusters and lot of terminated crystals ! Their size is up to 1-1.3 cm. Overall size is 9.5x8x6.5 cm.

Beni Bouzra, Chefchaouen Province, Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region, Morocco - Morocco has recently offered a nice variety of elbaite crystals on matrix. Here we have a specimen hosting several red elbaites, var rubellite. The main one is terminated and 1.4 cm in size ! all around there are several other elbaites and some of them are terminated or some other recrystallized. Nice quartz points also, up to 1.5-2 cm in size and biterminated. There is hyalite coating on some crystals. Overall size is 5.8x3.5x3.5 cm. Weight is 80 gr.

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - A very esthetic, pristine, elbaite var rubellite of 1.6 cm in size is nicely located on a partial crystal of orthoclase. A real great crystal ! Very nice and showy specimen of 3x1.8x1 cm.

San Silvestro dike, San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - San Silvestro has been one of the oldest pegmatite vein worked at the San Piero area, aftwer the Speranza quarry. Now it is exausted and almost no traces are left of its location. This specimen is from my personal collection. There are 3 perfectly terminated elbaites ! the main crystals are 0.5 cm in size and show a deep brown/green color while the top is light green. The smallest elbaite is located just below the other 2 crystals, with the same aspect. Very nice thumbnail. Great esthetics ! overall size is 2.2x2.2x1.8 cm.

CRUZEIRO MINE, MINAS GERAIS, BRAZIL - Bright green elbaites show up on this specimen with a lot of cleavelandite spheroids on an albite matrix. The elbaites show a nice bright green color and are up to 3 cm in size ! Classic from Brazil. Overall size is  10x8x2.4 cm. weight is 177 gr.
